Nepal tips
Handy hints...

A friend in Nepal writes: I have made a few great discoveries that are helping me adjust to life here:

People do not really want to know where you have been, where you are going or what is in your bag: they just want to start a conversation.

The milkman doesn’t mean to be rude by checking in the fridge whether you really have enough milk.

‘What a fat baby!’ is in fact a compliment, and you should leap up and down with joy. Cheek-pinching is also a sign of endearment, even when it draws tears.

It may look like vermin to you, but beware: your children may have already named it, fed it and have fallen in love with it!
