A friend in the Arab World writes: The apostle Paul in Philippians states that his imprisonment led to the spread of the gospel. Recently I saw how God loves to take our difficulties and turn them into something good. I was driving down the highway when there was a sudden explosion. It didn't take long for me to figure out that I had blown a tyre. Traffic was not bad, and the Lord protected me and the car. Then, 100km later, the same thing happened again. Well, I ended up needing to buy tyres, so I went to a Muslim friend and asked for help. He immediately agreed, and took me to a shop of a friend of his. This friend arranged for a special deal. The only catch was that my friend would have to pay for the tyres instead of me (that is, we would have to lie). While the tyres were being installed, I told my friend I did not want him to lie for me, even if it meant I had to

more money. We went back to the shop and he told the owner what I had said. The owner replied that this foreigner was a better man than himself. Then he proceeded to give a price even lower than the one we would have received by lying! The amazing thing was the improvement in the relationship with my friend. Personal integrity is so uncommon here that when displayed it can open doors to people's hearts. This experience led to a number of heart-to-heart conversations about that which matters most in life...
